Membership benefits
Become a Bike Project Co-op member and maintain your
bike, improve your bike, repair your bike, or build a new bike! Membership
provides:
- 20 — 50 hours/week access to our bicycle repair
shop and bicycle tool collection
(access
during non-staffed hours requires taking Shop
Orientation Class and one-time $20 refundable key deposit)
- Members-only DIY hours.
- free single-session Shop Orientation
Class to review shop safety, resources, and use policies.
- member-only discount on frames for the Build-a-Bike program
- member-only discount on used parts and bulk ordered new parts
- 24-hour access to our new downtown-Champaign emergency bike-repair locker
- for fixing flats and other bicycle trouble when many blocks west of Urbana
- access to the "trailer library": borrow a cargo-hauling trailer that
quickly and safely attaches to most any bike, for hauling large and heavy
loads around town -- from two dozen bags of grocery bags to a quartet of
donated bicycles. Fill up the large weather-proof covered plastic tub, bungie
cord your stuff directly to the flatbed, or do both!

- Optional Extra Shop Access: full 24-hours/day, 7-days/week workshop access
is also available, but requires a Bike Project staffing commitment, or
purchase of UC-IMC membership.
Annual Bike Project memberships that start before June 8, 2008 already include
24-hour/7-day access for the reamaining term of these memberships; in these
cases UC-IMC membership is only encouraged, not required.
Membership fees
Annual membership is $40.00, $25.00 for students
and people with low income We also offer a family rate of $65.
