- BICAS — Tuscon, AZ — Bicycle Inter-Community Action & Salvage — "Fix your bike; take a class; experience bicycle art; get a bicycle; get involved"
- Working Bikes Cooperative — Chicago, IL — "a not-for-profit cooperative which diverts bicycles from the waste stream in Chicago by repairing them for sale and charity". In 2006, "Working Bikes gave away over 5,500 bicycles locally and internationally."
- Workshop Houston — Houston, TX — offers an Earn-a-Bike program among its five topic-specifc, youth-oriented shops. The two bike-related shops are: Third Ward Bike Shop (do-it-yourself bike repair) and Chopper Shop (welding and metal fabrication). Works for "empowered communities through creative and enriching activities for youth. Workshop Houston has five shops that provide artistic, technical and academic resources."
- The Recyclery — Evanston, IL — "The mission of The Recyclery will be to offer a sustainable form of transportation at a low cost, and to build community bonds and strength through the practical education of youths in bicycle use, repair, and maintenance."
- Blackstone Bicycle Works — Woodlawn, Chicago, IL — A "private not-for-profit initiative ... structured as a bike shop serving the public ... that has provided a blend of practical and educational experiences to local youth since 1994 ... Utilize[s] the abundance of bikes encountered in the waste stream"
