Tools
Sure, we have all you need to repair and maintain your bike, but there is always room for improvement:
Tool wish list: tools we ask to be donated or loaned
As of late-February 2007, we still could use:
- Large adjustable "monkey" wrench
- extra wrenches in the 8-16 mm range
- [donated!] Standard & Large size, heavy-duty screwdriver set
- More bike stands
- [donated!] Dry erase markers, erasers, and board cleaner
- rubber mallet
- compressor (tire inflation)
- one or two extra bicycle pumps (need at least one for our new Downtown Champaign Emergency Repair Station)
- a Y-socket tool (e.g. the inverse of our y-allen-wrench tool)
- means to mount our grinder to a table (clamps? heavy bolts?)
Tool loans are welcome! Tool can be donated directly to the Co-op or loaned for an estimated period of time. Loaned tools will be marked by the owner, and registered with the Tool working group which will record owner's name, time of loan, expected end of loan, and a digital photograph of each tool.
If you want to loan tools, please mail the Co-op's Tool Group. Tool loans and donations can lower or eliminate your membership fees -- ask for details!
Tools we have
Full selection of manual bike shop tools. However, many of the tools are on loan, so more loans/donations will still definitely help. Also, some duplicates are needed to accommodate multiple users working at same time.
Spare Parts and Consumables
(As of Feb. 2007) Sorted boxes, buckets, and piles containers of just about everything, many varieties of each part. Lots of used-but-still-working-fine consumables like brake pads, tires, and tubes. We are working on the price policy for these items, but it will be some variation on: really, really cheap.
