You can support The Bike Project by donating funds, material goods, or your time.
DONATE MONEY:
Your tax-deductible donation to this growing community will be greatly appreciated. The Bike Project has a fairly small operating budget (annually $60,000), so your donations will go a long way to supporting our community. Donate online with credit or debit card via Square’s secure site (choose “checkout as guest” if you don’t want to bother making a Square account).
DONATE TIME:
The Bike Project is a volunteer-run organization. Check out our Volunteer page to learn about ways to get involved.
DONATE BIKES and STUFF:
Support our efforts to provide bikes and bike repair parts to the community! In addition to bikes, bike parts, and tools, we are in need of the following items:
- Rags: we always need these, so if you have old clothes that are too worn out for donation elsewhere, we’re glad to put them to good use
- Dual Core PC’s and Macs
- Business shelving: any type of shelves or display case items
- Tools: particularly metric sizes.
How to Donate Bikes and Stuff:
We prefer that you bring your bikes or parts into the Downtown Urbana shop, during any of our open hours, and hand them off to a Bike Project staffer.
If you really can’t make it to any of our open hours, you can drop off clearly labeled bikes and parts in the bike rack outside the entrance to the Bike Project; the bike rack is at the top of the basement stairs. Securely attach a tag or similar to each bike / large part, reading “Donation for Bike Project, from (your name here)” so we can be sure that the bike / part is meant to be a donation. If you like, e-mail us at contact@thebikeproject.org to let us know to look out for the drop-off.
If you are donating a large number of bikes, e-mail us at contact@thebikeproject.org to see if we can schedule a pickup from your location.
